Open source technology is not a new concept; in fact it has grown well over the years with a lot of people believing in it each day. It provides unrestricted learning access and encourages further innovation through tinkering & community sharing. One of the very popular open source platforms in embedded electronics is Arduino and for website development is wordpress, both of which have inspired us to start this movement.

We believe Open Source Technology is a movement to remove various barriers in practical education in hardware and software technologies; especially for engineering and science graduate students. Due to the barriers we are producing less skilled people than the real potential. We want to encourage developing these skills at college level so that it helps them in getting core technology jobs, as well act as catalyst to create innovative products and become entrepreneurs.

We are already in a period where Electronics is driving everything we do and softwares (& apps) are managing them. We want the students from engineering and science fields to be able to expand their skills to be able to compete & grow in their careers.

Open Source means free access to source code of software, codes of programs, hardware design files, among other files relevant to the project. Thereby a user, be in engineering, science or non-technical, can learn, tinker, make & innovate new projects easily based on the given information. Starting in India, we want to grow this movement to all parts of the world, especially the developing countries which need to overcome a lot of barriers such as cost, reliable information & accessibility.

Open Source Tech is operated by a team of highly experienced engineers who have immense experience in the field of education and RnD in embedded systems, electronics, coding and robotics. The core team of Atit, Hitarth are Arpan are passionate engineers, as well as core team of Eduprime Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

OST team has developed various products as professionals for UniKits brand which caters to Robotics & embedded electronics education for school students. In their journey, while engineering college workshops and working with Interns from engineering colleges, they realized a need to increase skills in embedded systems that can be enhanced all year-round.
